My Story.

Hi my name is Judy and I would like to welcome you to my website. I officially launched ‘Batik Art by Judy’ in 2022 after many years of experimenting with the art of Batik .

I have developed a unique style when creating my Batiks. I use wax from my own honey bees in the batik process, painting on cotton with dye and I use mixed media to create fine detail. I look to nature for inspiration, which surrounds my studio, based at the foot hills of the Ballyhoura Mountains in North Cork, Ireland.

I have always been interested in organic forms and the texture of natural objects. I especially love the vibrant colours in nature and I always try to replicate this in my work. My interest in organic shapes began when I did my degree in Sculpture in 1992 in the Crawford College of Art & Design, Cork and later in 2006 I discovered a love for Batik when I became an art teacher.

I love what I do and I hope that my art work will bring the same joy to those who purchase it.

If you would like to commission a special piece, please contact me via my Contact page.

Hope you enjoy my work.
